I got a Marshall MG-DFX 100 about 2 months ago, but recently (the last 3 weeks) it's been buzzing more than it really ever should, no matter what volume it's at. any help would be appreciated.

It's probably broken.

Does it still amplify your guitar ok?

Yeah, but when i don't turn it up loud the buzz is louder than the guitar.

Its the fact its an mg probably.
Try it with different cables, different guitars and at different power points.
Could be bad lead, guitar or a ground loop.
If you can't fix the problem send it to marshall to fix, or the better option, buy a decent amp next time.

Pick ups can cause buzz like that sometimes too can't they?

Tell the guys your amp is defective and see if they give you another one.

Make sure it's your amp - I have to take clocks and paintings and stuff off my walls and put everything in drawers and stuff before I play otherwise it all rattles when I play :)

I have had the same problem once before. It could be many things, possibly your input jack on your guitar is dirty or bad, the pickups may be bad, or your amp could just be broken. Try using a noise gate, and that will tell you if its your guitar, also, your wall outlet may have bad grounding, and keep in mind flouresent lights affect electronic equip.! Best of luck, hope you figure out the prob!

i did sort it out, i thought i only had one working lead but i pulled another off from around my lights (i have hook-like bulb holders, v.useful for dangling leads over) it worked and without the buzzing, i dont need a new amp for a while yet, phew!
