Cubase SX3 VST Instruments (Recording them)

OK, im trying to use the A1 synth that comes with cubase sx3, but i have no idea how to record it. Any tips? If it matters im using a line6 toneport ux2 with cubase sx3 (similiar to the POD which im sure you guys know). Thanks so much.

You need to create a MIDI track in Cubase and set the output on it to the A1 synth, then either draw in the notes yourself using the midi editor, or use a midi keyboard to record the data in.
