Tool or Arctic Monkeys?
(Edit: for ironies sake, I set the poll to expire after 10000 days :))

Arctic Monkeys. I like Tool, but I'm not a fanboy.

FIRST POST WHAT

I'm sick of everything, so I voted for Arctic Monkeys.

Arctic Monkeys, not even close.

Maybe it would have been close if the other choice was The Killers.

Tool because they suck way more.

DrunksWithGuns

Hmm ... maybe the winner (??) can take on The Killers?
We could make it like one of those 'Love It or Loathe It' competitions, where the one with the most votes carries on and challenges the next band everyone is sick of.

Zappa

Tool. Arctic Monkeys rock.

Sam
05-24-2006, 09:56 PM
As much as Tool pisses me off, I come into contact with Arctic Monkey related things more often so they get my vote.

Both bands are terrible, but at least Tool's success is somewhat understandable. Arctic Monkeys take this one.

Once again, I love you dei. In a totally platonic, manly way. Not like Brokeback Mountain or anything.

Artic Monkeys FTW! Or is it FTL?

Either way is fine. It's hard to be cool on the internet and get laid off the internet. So, you know, I'll take whatever I can get.

I FAIL TO SEE THE IRONY IN THAT

that's probably because it isn't ironic at all

Also, who is TS?
Maybe if you sync my name and TS' name, they read as one big name?

S = starter

surely you can link the two

Tool doesn't really bother me. The Arctic Monkeys are crap though.

FA
05-25-2006, 12:03 AM
The Arctic Monkeys, mainly because there's too much hype on them lately. I havn't really heard all this Tool nonsense, so as for them, they don't bother me all that much.

Kurtz

tool

just because

Simple difference is that Tool are good, Arctic Monkeys aren't.

Arctic Monkeys.

Rage_Against_The_System
05-25-2006, 04:19 AM
Arctic Monkeys because they are an extremely overated band and they don't even come close to the almighty greatness of Tool.

br3ad_man
05-25-2006, 04:39 AM
Tool have more annoying fans and personalities.

Mitch2oo6
05-25-2006, 05:11 AM
Tool, because Arctic Monkeys have a better name

charolastra
05-25-2006, 06:54 AM
i used to dig tool until my musical horizons expanded, thanks to mx. so there's little respect lingering around my ears for their music.

however, i've tried to listen to the monkeys again and again trying to find something nice about their music; it's just plain annoying.

Kyle

Tool are more annoying people, and have more annoying fans, but their music ain't that bad once you get past that.

Arctic Monkeys seem like pretty down to earth and realistic guys, but I don't like them all that much.

mr_jackalope
05-25-2006, 11:48 AM
Tool and their fans are way more annoying. At least the Arctic Monkeys have been humble about all the press they're getting, while Tool continues to push this "tortured genius" persona to a bunch of metalheads and kids who sew patches into their jackets.

:D Oh man that's great.

I like the loathe it or love it idea.

I think I have been stuck in a bubble because I have not heard/paid attention to any of the hype either have received over the past whatever so they don't bother me.

ThaFleastyler
05-25-2006, 05:00 PM
OK, the Love It/Loathe It idea:
People need to start posting ideas for who the winner of this poll will take on next (although, I think it should be the White Stripes).
After this poll lays dormant for a whole day, I'll post up the new poll.

Iai
05-25-2006, 06:25 PM
Tool. The Monkeys album doesn't fall far short of justifying the hype for me.

Iai
05-25-2006, 06:25 PM
The winner should face Sufjan 'STFU' Stevens.

ThaFleastyler

In the name of not needing to have another poll to decide who the person should face next, all the ideas will be considered and will come up eventually - I'll just pick the one with the most votes for the next poll.

Although, I'm liking Sufjan ... I'm not sick of him, but I am sick of the hype.

Neither of them bother me, really. I have both the albums, but I don't listen to them often.

Happymeal

Tool because I'm tired of seeing them all over the place. And I actually like the Arctic Monkeys album.

Saw a Tool sticker on the back of a Prius today. Made me think of this thread. But really, not too sick of either.

After seeing the music video for Schism, I have to say Tool. Arctic Monkeys have done me no harm!

Arctic Monkeys. Tool at least have some talent.

Hep Kat

I don't care enough about either to pay much attention, though.

the artic monkeys i like but tool is just starting to a little meh

Paranoid Android1990

I like both, i dont see why people would flame tool so much =S. Although im not a big fan and have only heard 5 or 6 songs so i cant argue for them, but there defanitley not annoying IMO.

As for Arctic Monkeys i qwite like them, there a proper northern band so i can relate to them although they are overated and the media have almost killed them for me.

Tool have been nowhere near hyped as much as AM. Arctic Monkeys are literally everywhere in Britain, and the only thing i've seen of Tool is the album in the shops.

The only reason you people are hating Tool is because of this forum. There's hardly any coverage on them otherwise.
