Second Wind
This was Steve Hansgen's band right after Minor Threat broke up. They cover Wire aswell. Produced by Lyle Preslar in 1984. Kind of a slower, not as good Minor Threat. An average band from 80's DC, figured someone may be interested.

After Words
Overlooked emo band from Georgia cira '87-'88. This record came out on Sammich Records in 1988 (which was Ian Mackaye's sister's record label that also put out early Swiz, Soulside and Shudder To Think records)

Rites of Spring
I'm sure many of you know them. This is a demo from them which I'm sure you will be hard pressed to find.

All this stuff is ripped from old vinyls and tapes.

Excellent sound quality, all things considered.
How exactly does one rip vinyls or tapes? Special sound card with audio-in and maybe some kind of cool software?

You go from vinyl to tape. Tape to computer. Then you convert that to MP3.

How would tape to computer differ from vinyl to computer?

You can go from vinyl to PC. You need a player with a poweramp that has an audio out and an input on your PC soundcard with recording software. Not as complicated as it seems. Probably take longer to find the right cords than to actually set it up.
