Peavey TNT 115.
I whore it all the time. I have one. I absolutely love it. It's amazing, boomy but not muddy, powerful, and LOUD. It's got great tonal diversity. It's such a great amp. It's built like a tank, too; I dropped it down the stairs and it was perfectly fine afterwards.
Highly reccomended. Check up on Musician's Friend for reviews on it.

I have the Peavey MicroBass, its a 50W amp and I am really proud of it considering the price I got it for and how loud it is. It's a 1x10 I think but it can hold it's own against my friend's Marshall amp.
So we know that Peavey is reliable and very good for the price...

Yeah but mine has wheels on it so I only have to pick it up and down. Considering the bargain, dependence, tonal versatility, power, and overall greatness of the amp, I'd consider it a bargain.
It's only like 95 lbs, so it's not even really that heavy. If it's an issue and you gig a lot, ask your bandmates to help you. It won't kill you. :p

i love the tnt 115 in every way, except the volume. it's fine for most situations, but i find ofttimes in situations of bad acoustics, it struggles against powerful amps without a PA. that red light ends up blinking on a lot

Weird...I've never found that.
Maybe I've never been around amps/PAs as powerful as yours, but I don't gig with my Peavey. I use it in practice situations only. I gig with my GK. That could be it.

I don't mind a 15" combined with a 10" speaker, but I can't stand it when people play through 15" speakers alone!

I've just sold a Electro-Voice 2x15 cab with no tweeter. I don't know which EV speakers were in there but it sounded amazingly full range, with plenty of treble. I might try and track down a 1x15 of theirs.
Even a weirdo like Chris might like it once he gets that stick out of his ***.

15" speakers just don't provide the kind of definition I want, not compared to 10"s.
Definition is a good thing.

Put your handbags down ladies and help this gentleman.
For a start what is your pricerange?
How many ohms do you need?
How many wats rms?
Ps. 12 inchers ftw!
Can't stand it when a bass has no bottom end and all definition.
