So this is more of a general question but, How long have you been playing bass for?, Ive only been a proper bass player for 5 months but played shows in an old band playin bass! thats my story :thumb:

Not far off four years now - there's a scary thought. From the start I was into Primus, so root-noting never featured prominently in my playing. But for quite a while I wasn't really practising very much, and progressed pretty slowly. Back on track now though, I think. :)

About a year now(maybe less) About a month of worshipping Mike Dirnt then my older sister gave me the Californication album and Ive been playing seriously since then. And I've been told I'm really good.

well i'd say it still counts...doesn't matter how serious you were about it...sure i wasn't half as serious about playing as i am today...of course...i didn't know i was gonna be doing this now when i first started playing, i didn't know i would wanna make a living out of it..

3 years all together. 1st year i practiced half an hour a week and thought that all teh bass ever did in any genre of music was play simplified versions of the guitar parts though. i did develope some dexterity during that time though, thats about it.

I am can _almost_ play coffee shop, if I could find a decent tab, and had a better set-up(my SX is a lemon :() and was able to move my fingers fast enough for the solo.
