Okay these guys are all tied to be in the top 50 so you need to vote for the one you believe most deserving to make it. The top 4 voted actors will get in, vote wisely.

Christian Bale - Started his career as a child actor in Steven Spielberg’s "Empire of the Sun". Has starred in everything from Shakespeare to animation to Hollywood action.

Highlights
- All the Little Animals
- The Machinist
- Batman Begins
- Empire of the Sun

Jeff Bridges - Underrated character actor, extremely versatile. Has never chained himself down to one genre or role and never ceases to surprise.

Highlights
- Fat City
- The Last Picture Show
- The Big Lebowski
- The Fabulous Barker Boys

Charles Bronson - Tough guy actor with great presence but who rarely broke free from his standard persona.

Highlights
- The Dirty Dozen
- Hard Times
- The Great Escape
- Once Upon a Time in the West

Bruce Campbell - Fitting tightly into the "cult" category, Bruce Campbell will be best remembered for his maniacal and over the top role as Ash in the Evil Dead/ Army of Darkness series. In fact that’s pretty much all he's done.

Highlights
- The Evil Dead/ Army of Darkness series
- Bubba Ho Tep

John Cleese- The only Python to make it here is certainly a well picked one. Cleese may not be the most versatile comic but he is absolutely brilliant at what he does.

Highlights
- The Python Films/ Series
- Fawlty Towers (TV series)
- A Fish Called Wanda
- Time Bandits

Robert Duvall - Though rarely a leading actor, Robert Duvall has certainly been in some great films, giving equally great performances throughout. Can play pretty much anything and it certainly takes a big man to so powerfully deliver his most famous line to date: “I love the smell of napalm in the morning!”

Highlights
- The Godfather (Parts 1 & 2)
- The Great Santini
- To Kill a Mockingbird
- Apocolypse Now

Alec Guinness – Best known as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars, Alec Guinness rarely receives enough credit for his acting abilities. Notably played 8 separate roles in the film Kind Hearts and Coronets.

Highlights
- The Bridge on the River Kwai
- Kind Hearts and Coronets
- Lawrence of Arabia
- Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

Tim Robbins – Both as an actor and director Tim Robbins always puts in great work. Often carries a “nice-boy” image on screen but subverted such preconceptions brilliantly with his performance as a serial killer in The Player.

Highlights
- The Player
- The Shawshank Redemption
- Short Cuts
- Jacob’s Ladder

Bruce Willis – Predominantly an action star, Bruce Willis does occasionally put forth some decent performances but top 50 of all time? Come on…

Highlights
- Pulp Fiction
- Die Hard
- 12 Monkeys
- The Sixth Sense

Tough call between Jeff Bridges, Robert Duvall and Bruce Willis. I'll go for Robert Duvall though.

How are you going to use a cartoon as an example for Christian Bale of his acting ability? At least replace it with The Machinist. Or give some credit to the animator.

How is Christain Bale not #1 on this list?

I picked Robert Duvall.

EDIT: After looking over the rest of the guys, I would've also went with Tim Robbins, John Cleese, or Bruce Campbell. But only one!

Christian Bale's best effort isn't listed.....you have to recognize him for the amazing role he did in "The Machinist". Anf for that effort, I'll vote for him.

Tough between Duvall, Willis, Robbins, and Brosnon but I went with Duvall because i'm thinking enough people will pick the others. Maybe not though.

Christian Bale.

I can't believe John Cleese is winning right now.

Robert Duvall, Tim Robbins and Alec Guiness. Tough.

I'll have to go with Guiness.

I really can't see why Bruce Willis and Charles Bronson are on there.

Alright Machinist it is then, due to popular demand.

I'll agree with that, it just when someone asks me who my favorite actor is, I usually don't think of a comedic one first, if you know what I mean.

Robbins, he's ace in everything i've seen him in, and he only has one vote at the moment.

Bruce Campbell. Drama actors are a dime a dozen, but no one can pull off a distinctive, psychotic persona like Bruce Campbell.

See a Streetcar Named Desire and On the Waterfront, then tell me that Marlon Brando isn't a good actor.

If you ask me, Alec Guinness, and then Robert Duvall, should come a long way before anyone else on that list. Seriously, Bruce ****ing Willis?

I voted Willis, with Robbins in close 2nd for Shawshank. I don't really thing the other actors are anything special, although I have only seen Bale in Batman Begins which I hated.

My vote went to Alec Guinness

FA
05-23-2006, 01:11 AM
Jeff Bridges merely for his hilariousness in The Big Lebowski. I do believe I havn't yet viewed films of a couple of the other actors nominated. I do wish to have Mr. Duvall on the list as well, but I can't have it all.

EDIT: After looking at the list, I've seen at least one movie with one of those actors in it. Oh well.

I picked Bruce Campbell just because he is the man. I was almost gonna pick Christian Bale but I changed my mind when I voted. Alec Guinness and Bruce Willis were also considerations

Just looking at the results, I realise how retarded some people are...

If Bruce Willis is leading, then this poll doesn't mean very much...

I like Bruce Willis in Sin City, but he is a tad overrated in my books.

I'm going with Duval.
