Okay these guys are all tied to be in the top 50 so you need to vote for the one you believe most deserving to make it. The top 4 voted actors will get in, vote wisely.
Christian Bale - Started his career as a child actor in Steven Spielberg’s "Empire of the Sun". Has starred in everything from Shakespeare to animation to Hollywood action.
Highlights
- All the Little Animals
- The Machinist
- Batman Begins
- Empire of the Sun
Jeff Bridges - Underrated character actor, extremely versatile. Has never chained himself down to one genre or role and never ceases to surprise.
Highlights
- Fat City
- The Last Picture Show
- The Big Lebowski
- The Fabulous Barker Boys
Charles Bronson - Tough guy actor with great presence but who rarely broke free from his standard persona.
Highlights
- The Dirty Dozen
- Hard Times
- The Great Escape
- Once Upon a Time in the West
Bruce Campbell - Fitting tightly into the "cult" category, Bruce Campbell will be best remembered for his maniacal and over the top role as Ash in the Evil Dead/ Army of Darkness series. In fact that’s pretty much all he's done.
Highlights
- The Evil Dead/ Army of Darkness series
- Bubba Ho Tep
John Cleese- The only Python to make it here is certainly a well picked one. Cleese may not be the most versatile comic but he is absolutely brilliant at what he does.
Highlights
- The Python Films/ Series
- Fawlty Towers (TV series)
- A Fish Called Wanda
- Time Bandits
Robert Duvall - Though rarely a leading actor, Robert Duvall has certainly been in some great films, giving equally great performances throughout. Can play pretty much anything and it certainly takes a big man to so powerfully deliver his most famous line to date: “I love the smell of napalm in the morning!”
Highlights
- The Godfather (Parts 1 & 2)
- The Great Santini
- To Kill a Mockingbird
- Apocolypse Now
Alec Guinness – Best known as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars, Alec Guinness rarely receives enough credit for his acting abilities. Notably played 8 separate roles in the film Kind Hearts and Coronets.
Highlights
- The Bridge on the River Kwai
- Kind Hearts and Coronets
- Lawrence of Arabia
- Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
Tim Robbins – Both as an actor and director Tim Robbins always puts in great work. Often carries a “nice-boy” image on screen but subverted such preconceptions brilliantly with his performance as a serial killer in The Player.
Highlights
- The Player
- The Shawshank Redemption
- Short Cuts
- Jacob’s Ladder
Bruce Willis – Predominantly an action star, Bruce Willis does occasionally put forth some decent performances but top 50 of all time? Come on…
Highlights
- Pulp Fiction
- Die Hard
- 12 Monkeys
- The Sixth Sense
