EMG HZ stuff is VERY VERY VERY heavy in the upper-midrange frequencies, specifically those right around 900hz-1.1khz (to my ears at least). Its sort of a give-and-take thing with them. My thoughts were that they make the E and A strings (B on a 5 as well) sound fantastic... really really good. However, they make the D and G string pretty much unuseable in my opinion. Very unbalanced from string to string.

Would some slight EQ'ing fix that though?

Instead of making a new thread, I guess I can ask this here: Does anybody have any experience with the EMG 35Ps? Here's the link.... http://www.emgpickups.com/displayproducts.asp?section=Bass&categoryid=27

Well, after massive amounts of EQ'ing I found this: Flat the B, E, and A strings sounded amazing, but the D and G were unuseable. EQ'ing in such a way to make the D and G useable (note: useable, not good or fantastic, etc.) made the B, E, and A strings sound acceptable, but quite lifeless. This is all just my opinion here, but EQ'ing to create a mediocre (at best) tone isn't really a solution.
