I got bored so I did three recordings on Saturday.
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=477953
I've been playing for almost two years, no teacher, no click. I've been owning a full kit since November. I have new cymbals in this recording. Probably not the greatest sounds, I did this all with a dollar store mic, lol.
Mainly check out New cymbals.

Hey! recording 2 was very good....recording 1 not so much.

Overall, nice playing, when you stay linear it sounds awesome, and what ride did you get/do you have? I like the sound even on the first recording.

It's not bad for 2 years without training.

I've never used a click...at least not on a consistent basis.

Phrasing is kind of off and I can hear ideas that you have that you are having trouble developing because of lack of coordination. Just keep at it cause it's sounding good.

Icky surprising it's my Pearly Cx Crash/ride
Moogoo thnx, ppl tell me I have great coordination, but I'm also told that I have probles developing Ideas, I can get ideas I just can never develop them into my actual playing, but I guess that may also be a co ordiantion thing

I bought it used, dirty that it is. Has two cracks in it too!

So to get that tone, I'd have to buy a crappy crash/ride and knock it around a little until it has some cracks? hahaha, cymbals are crazy

Work on dynamics.

Little sloppy, but not bad.
I liked it.

Your blasting is a little weak too.

Your timing was a bit off at some points. Dynamics could be used; itll make whatever your playing a little catchier. Your playing was sloppy, and a lot of speedy fills were used. The blasting was quite slow.

Practice with a metronome. Play slower, and dont try such fast stuff.

Overall it was pretty good considering you went 2 years without any help. Keep practicing; you have potential.

To all who loved my cymbals, most of them are new. The cymbals I used were:
AAX Stage Hi-hats
AAX Mini Chinese(borrowed)
HHX Studio Crash
*All 14"
18" Pearl Cx Crash Ride (used, cracked, and dirty)

Dynamics are one thing I'm trying to work on now, I can do ghost notes, but nothing to complicated. Accents I'm working in slowly.
As for the blasting bit, that was first time trying it, I always do it on my lap but never on a set so yeah.

Metronome is something I always say I'm gonna buy but never do, stupid bad habits. Actually same goes with buying an actual drum book. Well i guess thats what the library's for.

Speedy fills are all I can think of on the spot, I trying to find other fills to incrperate into my playing. Got any suggestions?
