what is wrong with them? ive looked through the forums and found few good things said about them. would it be a bad idea to get one for $350

the luthite body sucks!!! tone is bland and muddy, and the action is terrible. if i'm not mistaken the ergodyne line started makign them out of wood, so they might be better, but be sure to check it out before playing. I havent had a good experience with these basses, but you might like them.

I own the bass in question.

It's really an iffy bass and has disputes like warwick and fender - it's hit or miss.

Try before you buy.

From what ive heard, the new ergodynes are supposed to be a massive improvement over the old ones

They're re-introducing the ergodyne series? Or are you talking about the A,B,C,D...etc. versions?

As long as they fix the bridge action problem and still keep all of the cool shapes of the EDA, I might consider buying one.

The new ones are pretty good. I'd recommend giving them a shot.
