when i record vocals they always seem to sound really nasally sonding, like i've got a cold!! any idea's? is it just a case of eq'ing it?

maybe you do have a cold, haha sorry it might be what your recording with

You're probably not singin loud or high enough, I used to think singing was around in my speaking voice, then I realised that its way up from that
The room, preamp, mic, cable and tons more will affect the tone of your recorded signal. It may not be you but instead the gear you are using.

i have a similar problem...
when i sing live it sounds more like tom delonge when he doesnt sound very nasaly, but when i hear it recorded, it sounds like the guy from motion city soundtrack... its really wierd...

That's because when you sing, you don't really hear what other people are hearing.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the gear, maybe it's just your singing that sounds like that?

yeah when i sing it sounds a little better than when i hear it over a recording so try changing the way you sing a little and see if it works

i know it's not my voice cos at the studio we recorded at i dint sound lke it and when i record at home it makes everyone sound like this. i'll just have to fiddle round with it, thanks for all the help anyway.
