I really like Carey Mercer and at times this band sounds fantastic. Anyone else like them?

I've got this bad feeling like I'm about to be ripped to pieces...

I like them a lot.
Masticated Outboard Motors is sex.
And I like their little Tom Waits-esque dinging percussion thing they have happening.

I absolutely love them. The Golden River is a modern indie classic.

I like Carey Mercer almost as much as I like Spencer Krug, and that's a lot.

Has anyone heard anything new on Swan Lake?

I have no idea how I'd choose between Frog Eyes and Wolf Parade. Oh lordy.

What's Swan Lake?

I really like them, oh and yes Spencer is pretty awesome, seeing Wolf Parade in September.

I just picked up Light Flows the Putrid Dawn by Blackout Beach (a.k.a Carey Mercer solo) and I gotta say it's pretty good. Of course my view is skewed because I'm such a fan.

But I've never even seen a picture of him (although I may see a frog eyes show in a few weeks)

Swan Lake is a new band with Dan Bejar, Spencer Krug and Carey Mercer. It's like the indie obnoxious voice supergroup.

Now that's just lovely. It's pretty much guaranteed that the lyrics would border on Mars Volta-levels of unintelligibility.

I hope Krug takes over on most of the singing. But then it's kind of dumb to have Bejar, who I don't think plays many instruments. I like Krug. A lot.

I'm planning on seeing them next month.

I haven't heard too much, but what I have I have liked alot.

I want, once in my life, to hear the three of them harmonize. Just imagine that.

It would bring about the end of the world.

I've got The Golden Shower, and though I havent listened enough its sounding very solid...like a more pychadelic Wolf Parade.

Wolf Parade is better. But both are good.

Sunset Rubdown is better than Wolf Parade.

I've been thinking that too.

Sunset Rubdown is better than Wolf Parade.

But..."I'll Believe in Anything" man. It's like the greatest song ever written.

"I'll Believe In Anything" is a great song from the same dude in Sunset Rubdown. I also really like "Grounds For Divorce."

If Tim Kinsella doesn't do something crazy soon, Krug is going to take over as the greatest person to ever live.

Oh I'm fully aware of that. Krug's songs whoop the hell out of the other guy's on Apologies..., but still, those recordings are better than any single track Sunset Rubdown has done. Their latest album might be better though...

You might be right. :(

I just think Krug is better when he's not being held down by the other dudes in Wolf Parade. One thing that kills Wolf Parade for me is that they added a dude that used to be in Hot Hot Heat. How could they bring someone inferior to them into the band? My heart hurts just thinking about it.

I don't see the link between Wolf Parade and Frog Eyes, except that both are good, but Frog Eyes to me have less "novelty good song value". As in I will still be listening to Frog Eyes periodically in 6 months time but I will have gotten bored with Wolf Parade

Spencer Krug was in Frog Eyes before Wolf Parade.

Think about this...take the Wolf in WP and the Eyes in FE and you get:

WOLF EYES.

RAWK.

Frog Parade sounds cooler, seeing how the (Blank) Eyes thing for band names is totally worn out.

I am tired of animal bands, especially bands with Wolf in them.
