Okay. The Adequate 7 are a seriously amazing band from the UK. It's like 3rd Wave Ska/Punk/Funk. The vocals kind of sound like melodic hardcore. I have their only full length on soulseek (chairmahn!!! for whoever doesn't know).

In November 2000 Adequate 7 was born. Four weeks later the band played their first ever show. A hard-working punk ethic and a love of all things rock and groove, alonside their passion for old skool hip hop, funk and hardcore punk influenced AD7 as they forged their distinct sound. A 5-track EP was released on their own label Breaking World Records in February 2001 and 1500 copies were snapped up at shows and via punk rock mailorders. This brought them to the attention of London based label Household Name Records who featured a track on their 2002 label sampler. They released their debut album "Songs of Innocence and of Experience" (Household Name Records) in March 2003 to critical acclaim and have built up a solid fanbase through their constant touring of the UK and continental Europe.

I've seen them a few times. They're better live than studio. I think they've got a new album out soon. My favourite son is The State We're In." Oh Jess, They're A Funk, Ska, Soul band or something, I KNOW you will like it blah blah blah"
But theres no funk, dont kid yourself. Punnk/ska.
I don't know what songs you've heard but they're clearly more funk than ska.

There is definitely more funk than ska.

Decent band, nothing utterly amazing, but still decent.

Yeah. I relized that after i listened to the full album.
And I just like it more... even tho some soul-rock reggae would of been cool.

In fact there's no ska at all, it's all funk/hardcore. Seriously amazing band though. New album out in the summer, but their live show stomps all over their studio work.

The first song on their myspace seems pretty cool so far.

as everyone has said, they blow themselves away live, compared to that the CD is nothing! i prefer the EP to the album but both are pretty damn cool.

Loads of better bands on HHN than AD7 (past and present).

Lightyear, Filaments, CE!, Peacocks, Capdown, Hard Skin, LOC, Antimaniax, Big D, Five Knuckle, Foamers etc etc

Howards Alias stopped being ska before they signed to HHN. They were more of a post hardcore / emotional rock band for the better part of their career. Also :HA: were better than any other HHN band. Well, maybe not Five Knuckle. Maybe.

Howards Alias were ska on The Chameleon Script, their only album that I like (but I like it enough that it promotes them to one of my favourite bands).

Ad7 are one of my favourite bands ever. Songs of Innocence and of Experience is one of my favourite albums ever. I was listening to it today but that's not surprising as I listen to it almost every day.

They are well not ska. They ARE funk. Very funky.

They are amazing live.

They are amazing on CD.

Stop disputing it or I will come round and sort you all out.

EDIT: oh and also the EP is amazing. I never got it originally but some kind soul sent me a copy one year on my birthday.
superskankin you're so tauntonXcore.

Who's disputing anything? Most seem to agree with you: studio stuff is amazing; live shows are even better.

That was amazing, probably one the best gigs I've been to! Pretty much dragging their asses back on stage for Protest Beat was a heroic move! Lol my voice was so ****ed by the end of it all.
