I have a quick question about trombones..
I really want to get one but I was wondering, are they ridiculously loud inside of a house? I play bass and gutiar and drums, but I'm not allowed playing the drums because my parents can't have conversations while im playing, so I dont feel like wasting my money again.
Thanks.

trombones are loud, but they're not as bad as drums.
if you're just begining and aren't good - yes, it'll be grating for your parents to listen to - talke to them and see what they think.
are you going to get lessons? that's another key factor.

No, I probably won't get lessons. Although I've already got some good lip strength :naughty: .. from playing the tuba for a couple years and baritone.
I decided to pick one up anywho and I'm doing pretty good, my parents can't even hear it when I practice so it's pretty good.

Awesome :). What's you range so far? How are you going about teaching yourself?
If you do start getting too loud, you can always grab yourself a practice mute at ~$100AUD. They feel a bit weird at first and aren't good to use all the time, but at least you've got something you can use if your parents absolutely need silence for one reason or another.
Then again, it's not a good idea to get one if your parents will insist on you using it all the time. Like when I cleared out a room and my parents tried to get me to practice out there.
You can get mutes for them, problem solved.
