Hey, what is a C2(no3) chord?
I've spent some time looking it up on google and haven't had any luck.

Thanks.

C D G

I dunno why it isn't just written Csus2 though..

Suspended Second (sus2) chords are spelled
1 - 2 - 5

So then, it'll basically just be...

E|x
B|x
G|0
D|0
A|3
E|x

I'm assuming all the other strings aren't played?

You could add the G on the E string, and the C on the B string, too

Okay. Cool...
I'll listen to the song that includes this chord and hear exactly how many of the notes the guitarist plays of the chord in the song.

That works, but that minor second interval can sound pretty bad in some cases. If you don't like the sound you're getting from that chord, give this a try:
E|x
B|3
G|5
D|5
A|3
E|x

TS: you want
e|0
B|3
D|0
G|2
A|3
E|x

I know there's a 3 in there. But you want it. You like Pillar and you're asking about a C2 chord. You're obviously in a church band.

:lol:It's the contemporary Christian chord, no kid.

That's a C9, though...

And Porcupine Tree uses that chord quite often and is far from a contemporary Christian band...

A CM9 has a major 7th in it, that chord is not a CM9

It's a mu major, and yes i spelled that right

it's a fancy name for a chord with an add 2 or add 9

My mistake, I'm used to abbreviating the Cadd9 chord as C9 from so much Porcupine Tree discussion (it's included in about 95% of their songs). My bad...

That chord oozes pure emotion.

nah its cool man, i make mistakes like that too, like assuming in a say a cmi9 chord, sometimes i forgot the 2nd is major, unless specified with a b9 as well :( , but i usually catch myself.

Haha, so does Dsus2 (xx0320) and Bbsomethingorother (x10011)...

they are

we're not talking about sus2, thats root, major 2nd, and perfect 5th

we're talking about Cmu major a.k.a CM(add9)

No. I'm not.

I usually play more hardcore music, and my all-around band I always seem to fall back on is RHCP.

And I listen to / play lots of music in between...

You people realize the difference between a second and a nona?

Doesn't a C9 have a minor 7th? Bb?

oshi, im meant CM9, yes C9 is a dominant 7th chord with a major 9th, i think....anyway C9 has a minor 7th, i've meant CM9 this whole time rofl

That works, but that minor second interval can sound pretty bad in some cases. If you don't like the sound you're getting from that chord, give this a try:
E|x
B|3
G|5
D|5
A|3
E|x
*Major second interval.

stupid way of writing it out. It's just a sus2.
