Anyone ever play this card game. Most of you think its gay right? Well I used to think that and then I played it and its not half bad. Well If any of you play is just talk about it or anything involving magic. But if your here to say "People who play magic are fags" please don't post. Thank you for your time.

It's a very, very fun game.

It's also a very, very expensive game.

I used to play, but to stay competitive you need to have way too much money on your hands. It's also quite time consuming.

It really is an awesome game though, if you like strategy. There's just so much you can capitalize on.

I used to play, but gradually grew out of it as I got older. It was a fun game though.

wow, you guys are Noobs.

I was a heavy Magic player in the mid-late 90s, but its such an expensive habit for an 8-11 year old (the ages I played at)

I used to play when I was like 11 I had some pretty slick decks, becuase I had been playing for a few years. I always beat my friends and stuff. So I entered a tournament and ended up being seeded against this like 30 year old homo, who wore all black and of course had an all black deck. He beat me in like 4 turns and he thought he was awesome. I realized I didn't want to be that guy, so I really didn't play a lot after that.

Its a fun game, but its tough to keep up and expensive as well, plus things just get boring when there's only 5 or so decks that can do much... Ravager Affinity, Zombie, Ponza, Tooth and Nail, something else...

But casual games with friends who aren't obsessive is fun, when not T2. Then again, I beat them too easily yet couldn't play competitively.

Anyone played the computer game, I mean the single player RPG Shandalar? Fun stuff, but you need a really slow computer to make it decently playable.

i have all the older cards, mainly from Tempest and earlier. To me, Tempest is relatively new, even though it came out, like, in 97?

Ice Age was my favorite theme.

Sengir Vampire was pretty sweet!

and Nether Shadow just cause he was the fodder that came back for more.

Ornithoper's are great for establishing a cheap and effective defense.

i played competitively for about 3 years, placing 1st in about 15 tournaments.

After a while, it was quite evident the originality factor was missing from the game and playing in tournaments were no fun. People would go to great lengths to win, even if that meant cheating. I experienced this first hand once, and that was the last time.

I went to pre-releases and just traded. Id seriously walk out with 500 worth of cards at any event. After doing this for a year, I really had to question my motive as to why i spent time obtaining cards. It just seemed like a waste. I hung up the towel, and sold my collection for 1,500. I still dont regret it

I got lucky and bought a box of about 2 to 3 thousand cards from my friend for $15. I used to play with a few of my friends, but we never got into competitive play. I need to sell these cards I have though.

Good God I bet that collection has some nice uncommon's and rare's.

I gave away my first collection of 4th edition and a Red Dragon card box holder to my friend as a Christmas present. That thing had about 900 cards.

4th edition was cool. Thats when I started, but they got rid of all the really sweet *** cards from Revised (Channel, anybody?)

I still have this really sweet Black Deck, its a Thrull Deck, is stacked with Thrull Champions (with all 4 out, that makes 80% of my creatures 6/7) Drain Lifes (sweet card) and a whole slew of nasty things.

See you auntie!
