hi, somehow i realized a toolbar that got downloaded that makes google link randomly to other search sites instead of the searched topics. i believe i found the source of it, but it's a .dll file and says it cannot be deleted because it is being used by the computer.

now i'm not exactly sure if this is what's causing it but i am pretty sure it isn't suppose to be there. anyone know how to delete those files and have any other ideas to what may have caused google to do this?

thanks

edit: also i'm not really knowledgable with this stuff so any help would be appreciated, and if i'm wrong about the .dll thing please tell me :)

If you restart in safe mode you should be able to delete it.

(I assume you're running Windows)

Windows XP

If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power

Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.

Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.

Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected.

Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.

When you are finished with all troubleshooting, close all programs and restart the computer as you normally would.

Hope it helps.
