OK, so a lot has been made lately of the Tool syncing thing (lining up Viginti Tres and Wings for Marie, then playing it over the top of Wings Pt 2 - to be honest, it sounds interesting, but not earth-shattering). But, despite some peoples obvious dislike of Tool, the syncing thing is a cool idea and gives another dimension to the music.

ITT, I would like you to share other syncin experiments you know of, and how to make them work. I read somewhere that the Flaming Lips have one? Or Pink Floyd? I would love to know all about them and this is the place to share ...

There's Zaireeka by the Flaming Lips. I wish I had the right equipment to listen to it. But i don't.

How do you get it to work?
I synced that Tool one using a cracked version of Adobe Premiere Pro :D

You play the 4 cds that it was released with all at the same time.

Theres that Kid 17 thing, which can be cool at times, but gratingly dissonant at other times. And there is that second disc to be played along with Dusk at Cubist Castle, which also can be neat at times.

Yea, I tried Kid 17, it worked pretty well.

-ly pointless.I disagree. I think it's a great experience. Plus, there's a sense of achievement when you actually get all 4 players synced up. :p

It sounds dumb to me. But I hear Kid A can sync with Nosferatu, or maybe it was Dracula. One of them. Anyway, I just don't see the point of it.

I remember reading, a long time ago (when A Sun That Never Sets was new) that Neurosis had done previously something like this. Four separate bits of vinyl, I think. But I've heard nothing else about it, from anywhere, since then.

A Neurosis one would be amazing.

Am I the only one who thinks Zaireeka is kinda stupid? I mean, I guess the concept is interesting... but there's some actual good music on there, which I will probably never listen to again, because I just can't be bothered going to all that effort. Especially when I have many other CDs that come pre-synchronised.

Yeah. I remember reading some review that said Zaikeera was the ultimate party cd, because it was so much fun getting all the cds synched. . . That would be the worst party ever, and Zaikeera is the worst musical experiment ever. Well, maybe not the worst, but its not good.
