i might've already made a thread like this, oops, well before though i didnt know what i wanted, plus i really trust my teacher, and he's really knowledgable so i consult him on buying a lot of stuff, but what its gonna come down to is my preference, i just ask him his thoughts on it

14'' A Custom Fast Crash. i played it once next to a 12'' A Custom splash, the Fast Crash made a much better splash cymbal

if you only ever buy one splash, make it a 10". more versatile.
if you buy two, get a 8" and 12". more range.

ok, went to gc today, and looked at the 8 and 10" a customs, those were'nt as good as i thought they would be, i dont know they just didnt sound right
they didnt have an 8" a splash, but they had a used 10", and i didnt like it
they did, however, have both an 8 and a 10" a fast splash, those things are sexy, just what im lookin for in a splash, so im leaning towards the 8" since it speaks a little quicker and has a little higher pitch, but the 10" is still really nice, anyone have any experience with these splashes?
also im going to my local shop tomorrow to see if they have the 8 and 10" a splashes to try out too...

i would, cept
1. not enough cash
2. i want something with a short decay and a nice mid-high pitch
3. not enough cash
4. i checked out all the cymbals and didnt see one
5. not enough cash
for the price of that crash (150$) i could get every thing i want/need
a splash and a boom stand to mount my china on, cuz right now its mounted on a clamp on stand thing and then ill put the splash on the clamp on stand
i will however check tomorrow just for you

ur so kind. honestly thought, the thing blew me away when i tried it, it does have a fairly short decay, and it sounds insane choked. look on massmusic.net and u may be able to get it a bit cheaper.
edit-it's 150 on massmusic, which kinda sucks, but it is definatly worth the extra 30 or 40 bucks between the 10'' splash and the 14'' fast crash

ok, i got back from my local drum shop, and heres the deal, the 8" a fast splash suddenly doesnt seem so hot, im likin the 8" a custom, but i have yet to try a new 10" a custom, so im gonna try one at my other shop on saturday, i tried an 8" a and a 10" a that i liked, but now im not sure
also, i tried a 10" k custom, and i didnt really like it, do the k customs seem like really thick splashes to anyone else?
they didnt have a k for me to try
gosh im so confused
i dont want to buy something i regret, so im takin my time trying stuff out, but it kinda sucks, cuz im not sure
i want something that blends well, and has a nice splash sound with a short decay
i think i might've found it with the 8" a custom, but i still want to try a 10"
when i tried them at GC they were used....heavily, so they sounded like trash, but the new one i tried was nice
