I LOVE RIVAL SCHOOLS. Best songs = Used For Glue and Everything Has It's Point. Walter is either doing Walking Concert or his solo stuff (both of which are awesome and I will post links to)

edit: Solo stuff: http://www.myspace.com/walterschriefels (just one song, he had a different myspace with more on it, i'm trying to find that)
Walking Concert: http://www.myspace.com/walkingconcert

The main reason you guys probably like this stuff is because Walter's in those bands. If this band was posted without any of you knowing who was in it, you would scoff at it.

Wrong!

Quicksand albums, Rival Schools and Walking Concert are all quality music in my opinion. I do not like them just because Walter is in them, I like them because he has written great songs for each of those albums. I mean if he had done crap songs, obviously I would not listen to them. Walter is gifted song writer and has a recognizable singing voice which I like. For those reasons I try to keep up with whatever music he is doing. So far have not been disappointed with any of the releases.

You probably tried to be smart and edgy, but failed this time, sorry!

Who the hell are you? Unless you're a regular, you're not the people I was addressing, so shut up and sit down.

Pull the stick out of your ***. I personally dont have a problem with you, but i dont think there was a reason to come in here and say these things.

I've only heard one song from Rival Schools. It was allright, i might check them out later today.

Anyone heard the United by Onelinedrawing EP?

I've got it somewhere. Not bad, nowhere near as good as the album.

Having only ever heard "Used For Glue" and "High Acetate" after recommendations from an old friend before, I only just downloaded United By Fate after reading some good things from this thread. I had no idea of what this band was about and that they had connections with any of the other bands mentioned, which is strange because I listen to Quicksand.

Anyway the album is good and I will look out for the unreleased material.

Also, why the hell doesn't some guy's opinion count just because he's not a regular?

thats just daft. no doubt walter is a talented man, but other bands mentioned in this thread have other musicians of course apart from walter and all those people deserve equally as much credit. with all those posts, i would have thought you had learnt to think before you post a long time back.

I've actually taken the time to see what projects the members of GB worked on after GB, because they're one of my top bands. :/

YoT = Youth of Today

Both are pretty cool if you like old school hardcore.

'Used For Glue' is the only song I've heard by them unfortunately.

Sep
06-04-2006, 11:51 AM
Yeah while that song is cool I find the main riff a bit too "nu-metal" sounding. I will probably get kicked in the nuts for saying that though. Especially 'cause my friend told me Walter absolutely hates that kidna music.
