Anybody catch Steve Gadd playing with Paul Simon on SNL tonight? Steve is probably my favorite drummer to listen to and I got really excited when I heard them announce Paul Simon and I looked and sure enough Gadd was playing the drums. I must admit his playing wasn't anything impressive tonight, but what he plays just always fits the music.

Yep, I randomly put on SNL and saw Steve Gadd and was "WTF". Was cool, but he wasn't playing anything over the top, just an easy groove.

I just couldn't believe how "heavy" the second tune got - It's Paul Simon for f's sake - cool though.
Was it just black sticks or was he using aheads? - if so would explain why they pumped the snare mic whilst Gadd was doing cross-sticks.
