ok so the other day we went to ripleys belive it or not and they had a thing were u see how many bpm u could get on a drum practice pad. it said the record was like 1256, or something aroundthere. i felt good cause i managed to get up to 817:naughty: haha. anyways. a friend of mine has been playing for around 17 years and he is 18 right now and can keep steady 16ths at 230ish going for twice as long as i can. in theory do u think if he could push him self to around 240, could he break that world record?

No.
And why would he want to?
We'd just make fun of him for playing really fast.

I think I've been there. I went to that place before I even started playing drums and got about half of the world record or so. I've actually thought about that since then and I've wanted to go back.
But, in theory, if he got to 240 he could beat it. In practice is a whole other story.

I've been playing drums for 20 years and I'm 16. I started at egg.

People don't drum at one, they sit there with a stick in hand chewing it.

I dedicate this song to you, my friend.

his dad was a drummer and singer so he kinda immitated him(sp?). but yea his dad started him with lessons when he was around 3-4 but bought him a tiny drumset to beat on at one.

ive personally seen Mike Mangini rip his singles. I highly, HIGHLY, doubt that someone will beat his record in the near future. The guy is consistently breaking his owns records for god's sake.

I'm curious as to what is defined to make it so.
Cause I can play over 2,000 notes in a min... not single strokes, but still. What defines a single stroke?
I think it's lame on a whole, or at least, it's just the same as... how fast can your can a mile? How long can you hold your breath?

Get a decent world record, like most cymbals destroyed in a minute (current holder: joey jordison) n00b's would buy your signature sticks at least.

I can use cut-timing and count in a way that'll convince myself i'm playing at 320000bpm...
