I saw this band the other night and I think some of you guys may like 'em.
Imagine if Connor Oberst's warbly voice crawled out of his mouth and down the throat of the dude from the Violent Femmes, and then the Violent Femmes decided to become a Groovie Ghoulies cover band, except in an alternate dimension in which the Ghoulies were a little more vulgar.
Their between-song banter was better than the music, and it's refreshing to see a band have as much fun onstage as these guys did. I enjoy shows where you get the feeling that there needn't even be an audience because the band members are enjoying themselves so.

Hahaha. Brilliant. Folk-punk is starting to irratate me now. Especially since the Flogging Molly incident.

I'm not so much into folk-punk. If you ask me, it kinda seems like a fad.

You could replace "folk-punk" with hardcore, punk, emo, whatever and it can be true in most cases.
How many of us listen to the exact same s'hit that we did three years ago?

A genre in itself cannot be a 'fad'. It's popularity can be, but now the actual genre.
And what Sid said.

This is a pretty good band.
speaking of the Groovie Ghoulies, they are from Sac and played at the county fair here in Vallejo last year, but I didn't go the day they played.

What's the "Flogging Molly incident?"
I used to listen to them quite a bit, then one day I actually realised how annoying their music actually is. Well, it wasn't really an incident more of a realisation of how crap they are. With Operation Ivy I also realised how strange Jesse and "Lint" sound really weird singing together.
