Help me decide...

hi guys...i'm interested in picking up on the bass...well i've been playing on and off since a couple of years back but never got serious and do not own any instruments...and i do not know music...i can only play by ear...i'm sort of a jazz fan but when i first started with bass..i played blues...

now i've decided to get my own bass and amp...there's this shop...the guy there recommends me the yamaha rbx 270 and yamaha f-20b (20w) bass amp...i have not tried it yet coz they dont have stock with them but will have it in a week or so...

have anyone owned those ? how are they for someone like me ? i'd like to start picking up the basics and head towards blues/jazz bass... :cool:

i have a 270 and they are great basses to start. good range of sounds, the 2 pup combination is very handy. never had any problems with it either.

it's a fairly light bass too, especially compared to a fender p or something similar. the metallic purple is pretty snazzy too!

i've not heard about the amp though. check musiciansfriend.com for any reviews maybe. i have a marshall 25w bass amp and i still use it at home cause the trace elliot and laney cab make the floor shake.

umm know i have not had that before but yamaha is a good
beginner guitar so i think you should get it if your new at the bass.
i have a (10w) amp and it's pretty loud so i think you should get the
(20w) amp also.
