How do you pan your tracks to separate sides? There is the circle with the knob on it near the name of the instrument track, but when I move that it never changes it's position.

Yeah I know. That's what panning is, moving the tracks sound to the right or left speaker.

Edit: And I am listening through Garage Band, and many other things that have come through it work in stereo. For whatever reason, I export songs out of Garage Band into iTunes, and they are only in one speaker. The panning controls just do not seem to do what they say they will. I even checked a manual I bought, and what it says contradicts what the controls are doing.

Something like that. If you are using stereo, then you won't be panning, per se, you will be singling out the left or right sides. You need to double click the track you're working with and switch from stereo to mono 1 or mono 2.

you have to have your track recorded is stereo, if its mono, you cant make it go to different speakers.

Also check your connection. I know that if I don't plug my bass in properly, it only records in one channel.
