well i just made this killer bass line, its slap, i'm really proud of it but i realy doubt it would work with my band (metal), it sounds to up-beat if you know what i mean, but should i use it, we'd be pretty unique, a metal band with a jazzy up-beat bass line? please please give me ideas or something, i know theres not alot you guys could do seems as i write a line that doesnt fit metal yet i'm in a metal band, i'm really proud of the line tho, DAM IT!!
sorry i just needed to tell somebody

Why not record it and start up a side project of solo bass? Play whatever music you think is best for your band.

Try the slap thing out in a song and see if it works. If the bandmates like it, keep it. If not, ditch it but record it as a solo side project. You can have more than one musical project.

tell them what you think. I get in positions like that where i make something and i wanna do it but my mates shove it off and it pisses me off. So speak your mind.

Unless it doesn't fit the song at all. There's no point in putting something into a song, no matter how proud of it you are, if it doesn't improve the song as a whole.
