Hmm..I didn`t like them. Way to rough on my frets, and fretbuzz as hell in 1-step downtuning, even after heightadjusment. Got some Elixirs for half-price a couple of weeks ago = much better.

Technically your brand of string shouldn't have f-all to do with fretbuzz, it's your tension that affects buzz primarily....not sure where you got that idea from.
Either way, as stated, yes they were Rotosound S/Steel round-wound (AKA Swingbass 66).
He also used to use.....D'addario? Was it? Oh...you know, the ones with the colour coded ball-ends....i'm sure it's D'addario.

So technically, that means Rotosound 66`s has lower tension than Elixirs. Hmm, so that`s why they dont buzz at all, even though every other setting is exactly the same.:chug:

I hope you weren't serious with that. Elixirs sound like crap compared to Rotosounds.

i would agree the only thing that elixers have on other brands is the fact that they last forever

yes, and I even got the Elixirs for half-price :) , but I might go for D`addario EXL-strings in the future. A bit cheaper and easier to come by.

Elixer strings for acoustic are hot, even if they only last 2 weeks :upset:
