so my guitar has a licensed floyd rose, and i've heard alot about how orginals are way better. i was wondering if the $150 or whatever it costs would be worth it to upgrade. it wouldn't be that hard would it? I figure if i swap out my emgs from my other guitar, and got a original floyd in there, there wouldn't be much seperating it from the $2000 king v i wanted, cept for the neck thru.

OFR's are coated will a more resitant coating.
There are some exceptions.

Alot of people say the original floyds stay in tune better. I don't doubt this. Also, original floyds are simply higher quality and will last longer. This is just what I heard; I don't have any personal experience comparing the two, I wish I did though.

I got an original Floyd Rose (for free :p ) and pretty much its just built better and stays in tune better.

Having said that, there are some rather good Licensed Floyd Roses, liek the Kahlers and Edge Pros.

^ Do you have any experience with Schaller or Mighty Mite Floyds? I know Schaller is a nice brand but I have no experience with any Licensed Floyds, really. They are like $20-$30 cheaper after all.
