Man, I didn't expect to love this band this much. Generally this type of stuff bores the hell out of me.

I just got Songs For A Blue Guitar and it's awesome. I'm currently downloading Old Ramon

One of my favorite bands. Kozelek's haunting melodies can be quite powerful. This is a group that I used to try and push around here awhile ago with little luck. It's nice hearing of more folks giving them a chance. They make some amazing music.

I'd highly recommend Red House Painters I and Ocean Beach. Those two are my favorites. But somedays Down Colorful Hill is up there as well.

After the incessant whoring of these guys (and Sun Kil Moon) by Nacho and asymm, in particular anyway, I felt I had no option but to at least check them out. I've really enjoyed both bands so far. Good one dudes.

I seriously love what I have heard from Red House Painters. I've been planning to buy Red House Painters I for a while after Nacho reccomended it.

Both them and Sun Kil Moon have some excellent music. My MP3 player is mostly dominated by them.

Down with Sun Kil Moon.
I'm hoping you've heard Ghosts of the Great Highway to make such a statement, eh? Too many folks have only heard the Modest Mouse covers (Tiny Cities) and jump to conclusions...

Ghosts of the Great Highway and Red House Painters I are seriously important. To me, at least.

I haven't been able to find Red House Painters I on soulseek.

Sometimes Ghost of the Great Highway seems really depressong, but at other times, it's just good. I guess I should pick up Red House Painters I. I have two other albums by RHP that I enjoy quite thoroughly. Anyway, I saw this interview with Mark Kozelek recently. I'm honestly surprised he hasn't killed himself yet. He seems like the most depressed person ever. Regardless, I like his music.

I was going to say something bad about Red House Painters, but then I actually listened to them and they shut me up. Is dei going to change his ways? I hope so.

Kozelek is such an insane songwriter, I cry with jealousy everytime I listen to them.

I'll never forget the first time I listened to Old Ramon and the nine minute opening love song about his cat. I knew right there that he ****ing rocked.

I've just started listening to them within the past couple months after hearing about them for years. Good stuff.
