i know of all the free ones,
audacity, krystal, acoustica mixcraft...
are there any that you can record more than 1 track at a time with? or can you do that with one the above programs?

You can do those with all of the above, I think.
I'm not sure about the Acoustica program though. (never used it) Audacity is alright but I think Krystal is a better program.

oh i just realized, sorry i should have specified..
i meant simultaniously... i have acoustica and audacity, and you can have as many tracks as you want, but you have to layer them..
i know with like ableton live, cakewalk, and protools, you can... but are there any cheap ones?

Sorry, i've never actually recorded multiple tracks simultaneously.
