I enjoy the rich music and culture of the nordic countries such as Norway, Finland, and Sweden, not just for the amazing metal that comes out of those countries, but the folk music, old and new. The instrumentation, melodies, and vocals all amaze me.
Now I know that lots of these bands are hard to come across, so use this thread to discuss your favorites and find more.
Lately i've been listening to Loituma's Things of Beaty. Loituma is a folk quartet from Finland, focusing on slow and beautiful music. It's becoming more and more popular, but it's still not know very well, please do check it out, I think you'll enjoy it if you enjoy peaceful folk music.
