Jazz Rock Fusion is a tough subject to approach in any music forum.

I recently wrote an article about Jazz Rock Fusion with contributions from John McLaughlin, Billy Cobham, Dave Liebman, Adam Holzman, Peter Erskine, and John Scofield.

I found their perspectives today about the music they created so many years ago to be interesting indeed.

Being a die hard Jazz Rock Fusion fan since seeing Miles Davis, Weather Report, and The Mahavishnu Orchestra in 1972, it has always been a dream of mine to ask these musical masters a few questions about the genre.

Hopefully you'll find the article as enjoyable to read as it was to write.

You can download the article at www.jazzrockworld.com (http://www.jazzrockworld.com) (in the downloads section).

Rick

Please note: Less than half the article is text, the rest are cover pictures and personnel from Jazz Rock Fusion albums.

You interviewed them? Cool. Checking it out right now.

JM: Sometimes to make a step forwards you have to make a few steps backwards - hence the need for people like Kenny G.

heh

That was short, how did you go about contacting them?

That is a very long article. I don't have time to read it right now but I'll work my way through it eventually.

In some cases it was surprisingly easy, in others it took a lot of work.
In John's case he was more than happy to contribute and was primarily intrigued by the fact I chose to make the article a "not for profit" project.

Also in John's case I got in though a side door "friend of a friend" type of thing and the connection is still there, but the signal strenght is weak.

Hope you enjoy the article.

I only read some of it so far, but I think it's great.
I'd like to let people know the actual article is only about 20 pages. the last 18 are pictures. 20 pages is less intimidating than 38
Good interviews!
