So, i've just borrowed the album Believe It from a friend. It's phenominal. Is the rest of the stuff this good?

Tony Williams is great, maybe my favourite drummer and most of the Lifetime stuff is ace.

Agitation - Miles Davis.

Its off the album ESP. And yeah, he was only 19 when he recorded that album. not to mention, when Miles Davis says you are the fire of the band when your only 19 years old I think you might possibly be a prodigy type drummer. He also revolutionized jazz drumming when he was in his teens.

damn...

Tony Williams is fantastic...
He's a great player, but unfortunately, many younger drummers don't appreciate him because of ****es like Travis Barker and Johnny Rabb.

to answer your question rather than state random facts about tony williams...

Yes, the rest of Tony Williams' Lifetime band's music is as good as Believe It, if not better. His first and (in most people's opinions, including my own) best album as the Lifetime band is "Emergency!", which is just, really really great. Tony sings and it's not beautiful, but man, the music sure is great. It's John McLaughlin and Larry Young, just a trio, but powerful as f*ck.

edit: in case you can't tell from the username, user title and avatar, I'm a huge fan.

Cool, thanks. I'll ask my friend if he has Emergency! and then i'll probably come back and tell you what I think.

I really need to snag some of his Lifetime stuff. He is one of the greatest drummers ever.

Tony Williams is the ****ing man! I recently bought the 'one night with blue note' reunion concert dvd. All-star lineup. And most importantly, the Miles Davis quintet rhythm section. Tony does an awsome solo at the start of Joe Henderson's 'Recorda Me'. One handed rolls and all.
