He's probably talking about the Raconteurs unless he just found out about the White Stripes.
Meh, that single they got out is pretty good but nothing I would call "amazing".

The single is catchy and annoying therefore multiplying the level of annoying
White Stripes are my guilty pleasure,so I'll check this out for sure.

They're called The Saboteurs in Australia.

There's already a Raconteurs in Australia, but since no one cares about Australia they didn't make the name change world-wide.

Yeah, they're some little jazz band that already has the name Raconteurs.
I do not like Jack White, so I do not like this band. I've heard them before, I think, and I wasn't impressed.
The Raconteurs are actually really sweet. Anyone here who isn't checking them out because Jack White is in them should think again, they are very different from The White Stripes. They also have Brenden Branson inb them, which nobody else appears to have mentioned.
Their album sounds just like a contempory version of The Beatles to me, it has that classic kinda vibe. I'm not saying it's on the same level, but their is a similar feeling to some of their songs.
I really badly want to see these guys live at Reading, but they clash with Muse, and I've heard Muse are great live.
Store Bought Bones is a really cool song. go to www.theraconteurs.com if you haven't heard them before. I have an interview with them on my computer.

I really enjoyed the 2 songs I've heard from them.
And for people who are avoiding them because of Jack White's prominent involvement in the White Stripes, please don't avoid the Raconteurs! I hate the White Stripes with a passion, but the Raconteurs were pretty good. Plus it was nice to hear Jack White (a certifiable talent) playing with a drummer who can actually play the drums. They are a totally different band and sound.

It's a decent song, but not nearly good enough to get me interesed in buying their album. About a thousand times better than the white stripes though.

Aint nothing on the White Stripes, and they sooo stole the intro to Steady As She Goes from Joe Jackson.
