Sorry I was late on this one guys. I had a busy week with finals.
Past interviewee: Permanent Solution (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=461536&highlight=DIM%27s+weekly)
So to get to I interviewed one of our favorites mods, Riva. He joined in August 2004, for those of you who haven't looked at his join date. In this weeks interview I discussed many with Riva. Many including why he joined and his modship. Without further delay I present to you the interview.
DIM: Why did you Join MX?
Riva: In order to spread word of my benevolent order through this mystical medium known to many as the intahweb.
Actually, the truth is that I joined MXTabs in 2001, and then took 3 years to find the bloody link to the forums. I'm that sharp-witted, everyone.
DIM: So once you found that link where did you first start posting?
Riva: Rock and Metal, of course. I believe my first post was some outrageously excited recommendation about the best songs to play after breaking up with your girl. Vets may remember the thread. I think I recommended Photograph by Def Leppard amongst others.
DIM: That leads perfectly into my next question
DIM: what was you primary type of music in you pre mx days
Riva: Classic metal! The founders like Deep Purple, the ;70s acts like Judas Priest and Scorpions, and the '80s metal bands like Metallica and Megadeth.
Riva: Oh, and Pink Floyd, of course.
DIM: How has mx changed, if at all, change your prefered listening?
Riva: Well, it hasn't really changed my prefferred listening. Rather, it has expanded my options, if you will. Though power metal is fast overtaking classic metal as my preferred genre, I've been exposed to a lot more bands from every genre. Plus, I've awakened a passion for jazz and classical that I didn't think I had. So, basically, rather than moving on muscially, I've simply expanded my tastes.
DIM: What do you consider to be your biggest contribution to MX?
Riva: Hmmm.... I'm tempted to say my witty repartee and good looks, but I think I'll just say that my MNMs have probably been more appreciated than anything else that I've done
DIM: How and why were you modded?
Riva: Contrary to popular belief, I'd only ever talked to DBJ once before I was modded. Well, I guess Ken was leaving for an unknown amount of time to focus on work and his music, so he needed a replacement. He nominated me, and so it happened. And now you're all stuck with me.
DIM: How woud you rate tour performance as a mod?
Riva: Hmmmm.... as Spat Out Dave would say: "OMG GUYS RATE ME I NEED FEEDBACK". Well, based on that feedback, I guess I'm doing alright. It's kind of hard to judge your own actions, since your ego will inevitably get in the way.
Riva: How do you feel about my modding?
DIM: I would say that you're doing a great job
DIM: Is there anything you want the rest of R&M to know?
Riva: Fawstuh's is not Australian for beer. They lied to you! Burn them, kill them, destroy them! HAIL AND KILL.
*cough*
Thats it for this weeks Q&A.
I have decided that this time you all should nominate who you want me to interview, then I'll put the top 4 in poll on Tuesday.
