i need five hours a night, never get a hangover no matter how much i drink, do die of hunger though and so i try to eat well before and after getting pissed up

i used to do reviews with the head blokes in microsoft. we would have a budget review that would end at 02:00. blokes like steveb would then grab 3-4 hours sleep and be back in the room for a working breakfast for 06:00. they would do this for weeks on end. i reckon to get to the top then you must suffer from insomnia

How

Not how, but why.

Habit I guess. I get up at 5am, and don't feel tired by the end of the day and so I keep going. If I feel like I need extra sleep I get it, but usually I don't need much unless I'm sick, or have had a few drinks. I've got a good diet going, and lots of exercise, so I'm full of energy.

My aunt was over here the other day and after a couple of beers she started going on about how her and my uncle are getting their concealed permits and they're going to stockpile as many firearms as they can because, "OBAMA IS TAKING AWAY OUR RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS AND THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE HE'S GOING TO TAKE AWAY OUR GUNS AND WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE".

They also have a shelter built a few miles from their property out in the woods stocked with canned food and bottled water and shi so that when Obama allows the terrorists to strike in force on our home soil they will have somewhere to bunk down and defend themselves.

I get the feeling Siva and my aunt and uncle would get along great.

never throw a chair. only man i know who can take a table on his own in a restaurant and dominate the entire atmosphere with his conversation with the waiter

so i was setting up the hardware and software for the launch of Windows 3.1 with multimedia extensions. it was all beta, as a matter of fact, lots of it was alpha code. bill was on a road show and i was the techie. night before the press conference in dublin bill comes to the conference hall with the veep of MS Operations in Europe to check to see how i am doing and all seems well. he takes the mouse and proceeds to look around the screen. then he asks where is File Manager, i take a quick look and there is the filing cabinet icon sitting there but the name below it is winfile.exe. so i point it out and he says "how are you supposed to find it if it is called the wrong name?". i explained it was beta and alpha software and that i needed to do some work to get the display names right.......and then i say to him "hey bill, don't mind me saying, but i thought the whole idea of gui and windows was the you could use the pictures to find what you are looking for so it shouldn't really matter what its called". needless to say he didn't answer and walked away. the european veep was pissed at me too

they couldn't really be this stupid, could they? this has to be a wind up

NEW YORK - Idaho resident Kathy Evans brought humiliation to her friends and family Tuesday when she set a new standard for stupidity with her appearance on the popular TV show, 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. '

It seems that Evans, a 32-year-old wife and mother of two, got stuck on the first question, and proceeded to make what fans of the show are dubbing 'the absolute worst use of lifelines ever.'
After being introduced to the show's host Meredith Vieira, Evans assured her that she was ready to play, whereupon she was posed with an extremely easy $100 question. The question was: 'Which of the following is the largest?'

A) A Peanut
B) An Elephant
C) The Moon
D) Hey, who you calling large?

Immediately Mrs. Evans was struck with an all consuming panic as she realized that this was a question to which she did not readily know the answer.
'Hmm, oh boy, that's a toughie,' said Evans, as Vieira did her level best to hide her disbelief and disgust. 'I mean, I'm sure I've heard of some of these things before, but I have no idea how large they would be.'
Evans made the decision to use the first of her three lifelines, the 50/50. Answers A and D were removed, leaving her to decide which was bigger, an elephant or the moon. However, faced with an incredibly easy question, Evans still remained unsure.
'Oh! It removed the two I was leaning towards!' exclaimed Evans. 'Darn. I think I better phone a friend.'
Using the second of her two lifelines on the first question, Mrs. Evans asked to be connected with her friend Betsy, who is an office assistant.
'Hi Betsy! How are you? This is Kathy! I'm on TV!' said Evans, wasting the first seven seconds of her call. 'Ok, I got an important question. Which of the following is the largest? B, an elephant, or C, the moon. 15 seconds hun.'
Betsy quickly replied that the answer was C, the moon. Evans proceeded to argue with her friend for the remaining ten seconds.
'Come on Betsy, are you sure?' said Evans. 'How sure are you? Duh, that can't be it.'
To everyone's astonishment, the moronic Evans declined to take her friend's advice and pick 'The Moon.'
'I just don't know if I can trust Betsy. She's not all that bright. So I think I'd like to ask the audience,' said Evans.
Asked to vote on the correct answer, the audience returned 98% in favor of answer C, 'The Moon.' Having used up all her lifelines, Evans then made the dumbest choice of her life.
'Wow, seems like everybody is against what I'm thinking,' said the too-stupid-to-live Evans. 'But you know, sometimes you just got to go with your gut. So, let's see. For which is larger, an elephant or the moon, I'm going to have to go with B, an elephant. Final answer.'
Evans sat before the dumbfounded audience, the only one waiting with bated breath, and was told that she was wrong, and that the answer was in fact, C, 'The Moon.'

my experience is not anecdotal

In all forms of anecdotal evidence, testing its reliability by objective independent assessment may be in doubt. This is a consequence of the informal way the information is gathered, documented, presented, or any combination of the three. The term is often used to describe evidence for which there is an absence of documentation. This leaves verification dependent on the credibility of the party presenting the evidence.

its never the peoles fault but it doesn't add much to the rep of the countryIt's irrelevant because the fascist period ended decades ago.
bullfighting, the slaughter of animals for the satisfaction of crowds of people = american heading off with his rifle, some supplies, a small tent, his mate for three days in thw wild and spend 4 hours tracking and killing a stag that they will then butcher and eat and bring home and not waste. i don't think soSome people think hunting is cruel. I'm of the opinion that a well trained hunter can kill humanely.

Bullfighting is never humane.

A freedom fighter uses violence because there is no alternative. A terrorist is someone who has no compulsions about using it to get what they want.

A freedom fighter might prefer violence to non-violent resistance. This does not inherently make him a terrorist.

because as a fellow animal, i understand the will to survive, so taking the life of an animal is not a pleasant thing to do.

your attitude about killing animals makes me sick. it seems like you just like the fact that you are more powerful than them, and you can impose your will unlike in human society, where everyone thinks you're a fukin idiot.

Actually no it's because rights are derived from reason. Man is the only animal that clearly possesses the faculty of rational thinking.

Animals do not have the "will" to survive, they have the instinct to survive. You shouldn't conflate the two.

Now, please display how they have and where animals derive rights from. Go.

We see a very ambiguously graded scale of intellectual capability in our own species, never mind across all species there are. So to say only humans have "will" or "reason" is just a little bit tenuous.

No one said it excuses it from a moral perspective, either.

If cruelty to animals is inexcusable in any sense, then saying that animals should have limited "rights" is valid given an everyday use of the term.

thats a ridiculous generalisation about argentina and its people.

and spain is not a cool country. it supported the illegal war in iraq and brought attacks on itself in return, causing deaths of its own civilians. they never finish anything. every second house is a building site. its people are gruff and rude and ignorant most especially when you visit there. fascism and racism are deep rooted in them too. and we won't bother to go back over their history of slavery and conquest and colonies and inquisitions. its national sport is a disgusting bull massacre, disgusting. their treatment of the basque people in northern spain and their quest for freedom is equally disgusting. as a matter of fact it really sport going for it. nadal is a legend and its greatest soccer player is argentinian. and the bitches are hairy and their breath stinks of paella

by comparison, argentina is cool

No sorry that does not follow. To the best of our knowledge, no other animal besides human beings is capable of rational thought and thus of moral agency.

siva chair have you ever been loved?

maybe if you had a pet they would love you, and that is where the beauty of animals is, even if you are the most insensitive, coarse, and rude person to ever live, but you feed an animal, they will love you. there is something about the loyalty and will (animals have will, it is derived from instinct) of animals that is unbreakable that is admirable to most humans.

if you cannot see yourself in an animal, then you are either lying, or you are not a human.
