The United Socialist States of Reaganista Islands
"In Tway We Trust"

Civil Rights: Some
Economy: Fragle
Political Freedoms: Average

The United Socialist States of Reaganista Islands is a fledgling, safe nation, notable for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate population of 5 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The large, socially-minded government devotes most of its attentions to Social Welfare, with areas such as Law & Order and Religion & Spirituality receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 32%, but much higher for the wealthy. An almost nonexistent private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

Crime is totally unknown. Reaganista Islands's national animal is the tway and its currency is the tway.

intelligence isn't inherited. even if it was i am an engineer so my kids would be above average at worst.

There's correlation evidence that shows genetics play a part in IQ.

And by that I mean studies of twins and adopted children. A child's IQ is more similar to his birth parent's than his adopted family, iirc. Separated twins are also similar.

It's not conclusive, though.

Even if genes have nothing to do with intelligence, I'd rather have an intelligent woman help raise my kids than a idiot.

The Stig
12-10-2008, 08:48 PM
Law school, MCP

Well it will be expensive as hell unless I get a good scholarship package, and since they teach common and civil law systems, it takes 4 years to graduate. My top choices are the following:

UGA -- Best school I applied to and since we own the place I live in in Athens, I'll have a place to live. Tuition is also reasonable. Problem is I don't think I'll get accepted.

Georgia State -- Best tuition, but not as good as UGA and I'll probably be living at home (not fun)

Hofstra -- They sent me a letter saying I should earn a merit scholarship if I applied. Plus, I'd like to practice up that way when I graduate. Only issue is that being private, I need a big scholarship to be able to afford it.

LSU -- Already accepted; don't know what types of scholarships I'll get, and it's four years instead of three.

Tennessee -- Expensive since it's out of state, and I probably won't qualify for scholarships here.

Western New England College of Law (Springfield, Mass.) -- Chance of getting in a scholarship and it's in an area where I'd like to practice. Problem will be tuition if I don't get a full scolarship and the fact it's Tier 3/4.

Northern Kentucky (right outside of Cincinnati, Ohio) -- Probably get a scholarship here too, but it's not in an area I like that much, and it's Tier 3/4.

Thomas Cooley -- Already accepted with a 75% tuition scholarship. But it's Cooley, so yeah.

You can go wander the Congressional office buildings as you want. You are welcome to go bother your Sen/Rep's office but actually getting a meeting that way (just walking in) almost certainly won't happen.
The actual Capitol building is open to the public, you can't just walk in and go onto the house floor or something, I think they let you in as a tour group (dunno because strangely I never have taken one)
