My parents started to let me drink when I was about 14, and I'm the least alchoholic I know of all my friends...
I drink more often with my father (which is very often is seems) then with my friends....
One case is hardly indicative of people in general I know, but I do feel that allowing alcohol early on, but with some form of supervision, is the best way to keep kids from going off and binge drinking...

I was given the occasional sip of beer by my Dad from being about 6 or 7. When I was a bit older than that I'd be allowed shandy on the odd occasion, champagne at New Year's, that type of thing. After that, it was a beer now and again.

I'd say whilst at University, I have had times when my relationship with alcohol is quite unhealthy, but certainly no worse than the average student.

I'm a barman, it's always RIGHT THERE, in front of me.

I always swear I'll have a week off from it, but you finish your shift, a few regulars buy you a drink or two, you stay for a while, etc.

Next morning, comatose. There's a lesson there somewhere but I'm not smart enough yet to figure it out

Like political bumper stickers. If enough people have them and someone sees one over and over again (take, for instance, the "W. Women on menopause
