<<<<<<<Anti-capitalist??
People starving because of your ideology strikes me as hypocritical in the extreme. You can be anti-capitalist in general and still support capitalist ventures in the short run where they produce more good than harm. I think it's pretty obvious that Israel isn't ready to move beyond capitalism on a large scale yet.
Considering we pull loads of stuff out of dumpsters, yes, yes it does reduce waste. Not much. Barely. A tiny miniscule unimportant amount. But still does. And it discourages consumerism among those that do it. Most importantly, it's free.
You're still eating goods produced in an industrial setting.
No, but I will grow my own vegetables, when I have the space to do so.
On whose land?
What the hell is sufficient compensation for five hundred years of colonialism and all it entails?! Most of those poor people are gonna be dead in a hundred years time, and not from old age.
No where but the Americas has endured 500 years of colonialism, and to be quite frank, the US seems to be doing reasonably well for itself. Colonialism in Africa and Asia is barely more than 150 years old at the most, except in India which is also doing quite well.
Obviously it is impossible to compensate the people already dead for their efforts, but we can adequately compensate people working in third world economies today and I think it is imperative that we do so. We also need to stop making it so damn difficult for them to compete with the west.
So nothing. Just interesting. Kind of like what happened with organic food quality. It shows that capitalism can't be sustainable.
No it doesn't. It shows that unchecked pillage of resources isn't sustainable, but only an idiot would think that's the same as capitalism.

Ok 10 points for whoever knows this song without googling it
a good test is for them to tell me the arrangement
We all got born so afraid
And still search for words
To describe that pain
And cling to each other
Like pigeons in the rain
And nuzzle over feathered breast
With beaks all worn and cracked an stained...
Hang on to each other
So this one's for the lost ones
And the dead ones & the ones who fell away
All our busted brothers
And tumbled lovers
Spitting at the rain
We all got born so afraid
And still search for words
To describe that pain
Hang on to each other...
and any ****ing thing you love...
Birds toss precious flowers
From the murky skies above...
Hang on to each other...
Any ****ing thing you love
it's about how the world is a horrible place and the best thing we can do is cling to the little victories in life

well haven't seen it yet but h-h-o is not a stable molecule
spitfirejunky
01-14-2007, 12:30 PM
The only stable conformation of H2O is the H2O we know. Any other combination would entail having two electrons on H (H-), which is possible but not at all feasible for covalent bonds in this situation due to the shape the orbitals would have to take.
EDIT:
Not to mention that H- is an extremely powerful Lewis base, so the electron will almost always be donated.

I fully support the existence of the state of Israel. It's a functioning democratic state, has successfully integrated various ethnic and languages groups (except for Arabs) and in any event it's not going away anytime soon. However, there are some of its actions I don't support, like lending precedence to Orthodox rabbis. Oh, and military blah blah blah.

I can. Those espousing Marx, when in power, almost always turn to Lenin and then Stalin.
Now we get to the meat of the problem at last. For you see:
The 20th century movement known as Communism wasn't based on Marxism. It was based on Leninism.
Hababi

And Leninism was based on Marxism. It's the natural order of government when you mix Marx's idealism with human nature (aka reality).

Thing is, Leninism represents a marked departure from Marxism.
They're as similar as Nietzche and Hitler.

Lenin's political views were radically different from Marx's. That's why it's called Marxism-Leninism.
The Nazis did use some of Nietzsche's ideas as justification for their actions and propaganda purposes, especially the Ubermensch. Everybody knows that.

Marxism, since it has so many interpretations, can vary between the extreme authoritarian (Stalin) and extreme libertarian (council communists, etc.). It is always fairly far left economically, though this can vary somewhat.
Lenin himself would have been maybe -7, 6. Stalin would have been -10, 10. Marx himself would have been waaaay left economically but in a moderate social position.

We're very open to ideas, but the reality is we needed to get the word out about something that people would actually do. Anything complicated and no one can be arsed.

But the best part was James continually saying that Booker was Jewish
Honestly, the best part about the future resolution of the Israeli conflict is that Americans can stop being so obsessed with Jews.

That ain't gonna happen. Guys like Sharpe James will keep on making anti Semitic remarks no matter what, and would do so regardless of the existence of the state of Israel.

Fine then, I just want everybody everywhere to stop being so obsessed with Jews. They aren't any better or worst than anyone else. They're an oft-persecuted ethnic group with curly hair and a penchant for uvular consonants. That is it.

Today I found out that Anna Frank's family was refused a visa by the USA in 1941.
US is Nazi.

Some people confuse me as Jewish, and it's weird cause I look like a mix of a kraut and a mick with really curly hair.

I had a dream last night that I was in a crappy pub on a boat, and lots of different things happened. One of those things was that I found two plastic bags, one full of soft-dough chocolate cookies, the other full of cookies that were covered in white flakes, grated coconut I assumed. I picked them up and then some fat lady who was behind the bar snatched them from me and said that someone had spat in them, and put the bags in the bin.

If you go to Leeds then there's a pub that is a boat. It's called The Dry Docks. I recommend it.

This was in a wooden boat that was more like a big raft made of driftwood. The planks was all faded grey-brown and ****. Most everyone there was fat and white. I bin watching too much Boondocks.

Some psychiatrist somewhere would have a field day interpreting that.

That psychiatrist would be hardpressed to find a psychological truth in it considering dreams are supposed to be thoughts and experiences of the past day/few days.
