If you're looking for hard music and think you've found it in Ill Nino, please check out
Immolation
Behemoth
Cephalic Carnage
I only have Revolution Revolución. It's a pretty good album. I've only heard one song from Confession, it was alright. I suppose it's a grower, heh. I'll probably pick it and One Nation Underground up sometime.
I like how they can incorporate Latin American music and heavy metal together. It goes really well together. They remind me of Orphaned Land, but a more mainstream 'version'.

If Slipknot is your definition of heavy, I'm dearly sorry.
Check out Into the Moat or Through The Eyes of the Dead please...
Check Behemoth or Anaal Nathrakh if you want something heavy.

Maybe Cryptopsy or Ghost Boners?
I dunno throwing out more death metals :D.
If Slipknot is your definition of heavy, I'm dearly sorry.
Korn used to be your definition of heavy, and you used to insist on it.
You can educate and expose posters like the threadstarter without attacking them for what they do know and like.
On another note, Ill Niño's guitar player is really, really good.

I've been trolling on overdrive for a while lately dude, I'm saying things that are dick without even meaning to :upset:.
But yea, TS, if you define heaviness with Slipknot, you should try broadening your horizons a bit, because there's just so much more... is that better?

Marc Rizzo is awesome, I've heard a couple of his songs in his Solo album and now I really want that album but I can't find the damn thing

Haha, that's fine. I don't mean to always be policing you either, I guess it's just because you've been on the forum so long, and I know you've got a lot of metal knowledge acquired since the Days of Dargon (as I like to call them), there's just no excuse for that kind of behavior, at least regularly (I'm prone to it too).
Feel free to slam me if I toe the line on it too much. :p

Often, you'll find that it's just the industry that's crap, and that bands who might otherwise include challenging musical things are prevented from doing so by cynical industry definitions of what's popularly acceptable. Even Creed's guitar player could shred the face off any player on this forum.

Yeah I like Ill Nino, i like a lot of their songs and the new album is a good progression.
I like the latin influence and style in their music but i wouldnt compare them to Slipknot.
I like them they are a lot like Fear Factory i think

I'm not the hugest fan of Creed, but Mark Tremonti is hugley underated. And ya, it's mostly the industry doing it. It's all bout what will sell and what won't!
Can't say I've ever heard any Ill Nino, i'll keep my ears open for them though.

i'll check out Puya
Ehhh, Ill Nino has always been below average. I have their first album and I've heard most of the 2nd. I don't think I really want to hear much more than that.
I agree with Thor. Their inclusion of "Latin American" music is really, really derivative and not well-executed at all.

Ill Nino, slipknot and every band like them are not worth listening to.
and could you explain why?
I wouldn't make such a blanket statement as Route 1, but most people tend to grow out of that kind of music pretty quickly. I know I did around age 13.

**Blatant ?? lol
These guys are pretty good, the singer is really good too.
Check out the song With You from R/R
No, a "blanket statement" is one that covers all ground, and is usually used to connote an invalid generalization.

A few decent songs, I wouldn't say they're getting "heavier" or that they were"heavy" in the first place. They are mediocre, albeit catchy.

Check Behemoth or Anaal Nathrakh if you want something heavy.
Early behemoth is good, when they were black. Now, they just suck. Anaal nathrakh is really necro. :)

I think ill nino is pretty talented, sure they fall under the same metal theme as a lot of other bands but if you're into that style then they are really good. I listen to lots of different music and sometimes i just like putting on Ill Nino. their drummer is kick asss

well, maybe the drum part is complex because of their percussionist, too. two players !!!!!!
I just wanted to come here and say that Puya owns.
