Fretted to Fretless

Well, I have been thinking about removing the frets from my bass to make a fretless for a while now. The frets are alrerady out, but the string touching the neck in a clangy fashion when i play below the 5th fret. Can you guys please give me a hand in fixing my little doosey???:chug:

Raise your action a little bit until it doesnt rattle on the fret board anymore.

Try raising the saddles a touch. A truss rod adjustment may be needed.

thanks alot guys, that was a real help.
I jsut adjusted the truss rod, and it fixed it abit, but not too much.
maybe raise the bridge?

Yeah raise the saddles a touch, if you raise them your intonation may be slighty of so it may need a quick adjustment.
