Two things first: I don't care what anybody says, waxing your natural finish Warwick bass is necessary. Unless you want unsightly marks on your bass from finger oils, that is. Second, I've heard some people say they use furniture polish or something similar. This may or may not work, but I think it's best to trust the people that made the instrument when they say that wax is the best thing for the finish.
The most common question is how often to wax it. When you first get your bass, I'd recommend waxing it every two or three days for about three weeks in order to build it up a little bit. After that, give it a full wax once to twice a week, and touch up spots where your fretting hand touches the body after every time you play. I'd recommend you wax your neck every once in a while, depending on how often you play and how sweaty you get doing it. Apply the wax with a soft, smooth cloth, wait a minute or two, and then wipe off any excess and polish it with a similar, but clean cloth.
Is this technically luthiery or modding? No, but I can't think of anywhere to put it and there have been tons of threads about it. If it should go somewhere else (Resources, maybe?), then please go ahead and move it.
