And just to provide an explanation for where all the recent threads went, earlier today a mod account got hacked, and most of the recent threads were merged into this thread (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=443775). It's virtually impossible to unmerge everything out of that, so the front page is going to have to gradually be repopulated again.

But the thread would not have turned into crap. If you search for the loose change thread we had not too long ago, we had two sides arguing fairly backing up our claims with evidence. It was fair, until someone decided to close it... :(

The lack of evidence argument is weak, because there is PLENTY of evidence, but we just can't provide it because our threads get locked before we can say anything...

Exactly. We've already had the dicussion so many times, and points just never get conceded by either side. Frankly anyone who believes in the 9/11 conspiracy theories about a missile hitting the Pentagon, or the government having a controlled demolition of the World Trade Centre isn't going to have their minds changed by anything that we can say. It isn't going to happen. If the thread had any new evidence in, then it may have stayed open. As it was, it simply had footage that I'm sure I've seen before anyway, that featured one frame of a white object heading for the Pentagon. I'll say it was a plane, you'll say it was a missile. I'll cite eyewitnesses who say it was a plane, you'll say that it didn't make a big enough hole, and we'll be exactly back where it started.

it's the same as having the HR4437 thread here, both sides go at it forever. Of course it's up the person to decide what they want to believe based the evidence they see. I see absolutely no difference in argumentation between HR4437 and 9/11 conspiracy.

Just like you say the conspiracy facts we provide aren't going to change your minds, the evidence you provide won't really change ours either unless it's new evidence such as newer footage of the pentagon strike that might prove us wrong of what hit the pentagon.

I don't know if you've seen this video, it's the actual video of the 5 frames you must've seen a while ago. This was released yesterday by the major media networks.

When we argue back and forth about different such as a plane hitting it, we could argue about the size of the plane, the hole, together, not just one side says this, and the other bring in another argument, and we WERE doing that in the Loose change thread that mysteriously got closed. We were talking about the elements of the WTC towers falling down together! It's ridiculous that it got closed.



Whatever. Since mid-2004, I've posted in multiple 9/11 conspiracy threads here, in which I've offered refutations to pretty much every single point raised by conspiracy theorists over it. The threads always stay on the front page for far too long, and they go nowhere. They're even worse than some religion threads, since at least interesting new arguments can come up in those. If you want to believe in conspiraces than 9/11, then please, go ahead. If some new evidence one way or another comes to light, then make a thread and it might stay open. But until then, please don't make anymore.

The Loose change thread we had earlier was having fair arguments back and forth about the same evidence you've probably seen, and it was fine by all of us, except whomever closed it. That is unfair to us that do want to argue about it. Why should it be closed because it goes back and forth? Religious arguments go back and forth too. So do arguments about immigration.

So what if it takes forever, so do most of these other big issues. It's not like there's always new evidence for and against abortion, yet we can still have threads on that?

Oh and the pentagon video released yesterday was actually New evidence supposedly revealed to debunk conspiracies. So why did it get deleted? It was not the same frames you saw, but the actual video of the frames.

Frankly I didn't close the thread, and I really don't care that much one way or another. Try contacting zerokewl at Non Sequitur 628 over AIM if you want it reopened, since it's his call to make one way or another what with him being a mod in this forum as well. My point about threads regarding 9/11 and all the conspiracy theories surrounding it was that, unlike good religion threads in here, the points have been made and argued in virtually the exact same words that will come up in any thread on the topic. But if you IM Steve and he reopens the thread or lets you create a new one, then that's fine by me too. I probably wouldn't have closed it in the first place, although I can certainly see why it was.

That's because religion can be argued in a metaphysical and theoretical sense, 9/11 can only be argued on facts, and every single fact so far has been distorted, from both sides of the board, so both sides are basing their arguments on doubtful facts. THAT is why it's pointless to argue. Here is the pentagon attack argument boiled down:

Conspiracy theorist: The camera shows an explosion coming from the outside and the hole isn't big enough to accomodate even the tip of a plane like that.

Patriot: People who were there said they saw a plane.

Conspiracy theorist: You're wrong, FOX owns you.

Patriot: No, you're wrong, stop looking for reasons to hate the government.

The thing is, I don't think it's right to shut down areas of discussion or points of view simply because they're hostile or are diametrically opposed to someone else's ideas. Because this is a serious forum, I think it is important for people to come to terms with the existence of opposing views. I trust the intelligence and maturity of most people on this forum to understand that. So, while I abhor some of the conclusions Zero has made, it is only the extremely hostile rhetoric that I want to disappear. He is entitled to reach and preach those conclusions, erroneous as they may be, provided he does so in a manner not likely to cause a flamewar.

It's the greatest feeling in the world knowing you've brought so much happiness and knowledge to the world. You don't know how many times I've been told, "Oh, VF, I just loved your so-and-so theory!" Or, "I just laughed so hard when -----." It brings a genuine sense of self-worth and accomplishment to the table. I feel like I've made a worthwhile contribution to this forum.

What I've never revealed to anyone, when I went by the name killswitchlog in Aug '04 but was accidentally deleted in 2005 by Superpeer, I knew something wasn't right. I knew no one paid my posts any attention and I knew the only way I could succeed on the internet was if I went by a new Moniker. It could be said that if it wasn't for Superpeer then there would have been no VF.

My inspiration for Volumnius Flush came in part from the old posters of the PNWI heyday, Zero, Tama Scott, Fenwood, but I think the posters who bestowed the greatest sense of personal value in me were Croniun, SivaChair, and BassRevelation. The tag team crime fighting trio of reason taught me that no matter the rejection, the deceit, the hate I would perceive as a threat against me, I would have to persevere and keep preaching the truth and I would finally find acceptance. What some of these younger users don't realize is that I've been through this before. 1000's of users trying to get rid of me, only to see that they would fail, and all along the majority was in great support and praise of my works. And so I've been caught up in a neverending cycle of posting, hate, banishment, acceptance, posting, and once again being hated.

Thanks to all of you who made this venture worthwhile. I will never forget you.
