Right, ladies and gents... it's time to vote.

The nominations have been whittled down by Subtle to the four strongest entries of the month, which you guys will vote for to decide the winner. Voting lasts for three days, once it's done the winner will be announced.

Now, here are your candidates:

The Lighthouse (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=459323) - Magnus55

S&L new boy Magnus makes the finals of the song of the month with his first song, and rightly so. An excellent piece that doesn't come across as over-worded.

The Heart And The Picket Line (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=462108) - Jason101

One of my better pieces of late in my own opinion, and my first nomination in a Song Of The Month. :)

In Death, I Found Life Was Only A Beginning (http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=461229) - A_Perfect_Sonnet

S&L stalwart APS makes his third appearance in SOTM, this time with what is probably his best piece for a very long time.

Almanac (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showpost.php?p=11979736&postcount=10) - ATC

Making a long-overdue debut in the SOTM thread, ATC's piece was initially submitted as part of the Lyrical Challenge, but was rightfully nominated by Slack, and takes it's place in the finals.

Righty folks, vote away... you have three days.

My vote was Almanac, though the other entires are good.

Yeah, mine went to Almanac as well... it was tied between that and APS's piece, and I figured APS will get plenty of votes.

APS, although I really liked reading all the others.

EDIT: APS song title could do with editing in the poll; IS --> WAS :)

I voted for lighthouse. I dunno if it matters that he edited it today or not but i liked it a lot. The others were good too of course.

Hehe that edit was me adding my name to it. I noticed lots of the other accomplished writers use their real names for their work and I thought I'd do the same.

Thanks for your vote. I'm just happy to be nominated. :)

Oooooo... I can't decide. APS or ATC... APS or ATC.

I really like the theme of A_Perfect_Sonnet's Piece but ATC's piece really grabs me with word choice. Grrrr. Voting for the lyric challenges is hard enough.

Oooh, after casting my vote ATC and Jason 101 are equal. I suggest a monkey knife fight.

14 hours left before poll closes, people.

I was surprised to see how much talent there is on these boards. It certainly makes for some intense competition

Wow, this is close. Is there any way to make the poll visible? I'm curious. :D

Nightvision

How do you mean? The poll itself is visible to everyone
(current scores:
APS - 4
Magnus - 6
Jason101 - 8
ATC - 8)
I meant to switch on so that who voted for what is viewable to everyone as well, but I obviously screwed that up... I don't know if Burt might be able to see it though.

I think thats what Slack meant.

There should usually be an option to make a poll public to my knowledge. This one apparently isn't. I can't really check it.

Yeah, that's my bad. I meant to tag that box, but obviously didn't.

You have two hours people. This is probably going to end up being decided by one vote, so every vote counts, no matter how long you've been here.

Vote. Mother Russia commands you.

I really really don't want to give out a three way tie.

I can put it into sudden death if need be.

Nightvision

Right, didn't see this one coming... :-\

Burt's extended the deadline by a day, but hopefully we won't need it, as the NEXT VOTE wins. Sudden death, if you will.

Oi, I had no idea it would come down to this! A three way tie. Thanks to whomever voted for me today. The funny thing is, in all the excitement I was so happy just to be nominated I forgot to even vote in the poll. My hats off to you Jason, you're a great writer and you deserve my vote. :)

Haha, yeah. It's all done.

Thank you to everyone who voted for me, particularly Magnus, who in doing so scuppered his own chances of winning. It's much appreciated, and to even score a few votes against songs of the caliber of these three would have been good - to win is a complete shock.

Thank you all again. Let's go celebrate.

APS is buying.
