The Hippos

I'd probably describe these guys as equal parts pop, rock and ska. They're a really good band (well they were, they've broken up now) but they've released 3 albums (I havn't heard much of their third, but it's very different from their other two- of which the first one is more ska-y while the second one (my fave) is more poppy (god, I hate that word)).

I recommend tracking down some songs if you can- though I dunno how easy that will be to do. They have a Myspace but I really don't think the songs on their are anywhere near their best.

I'd say look for anything from 'Heads are gonna roll', in particular Pollution, Far Behind, All Alone or He Said.
