Sort of a guilty pleasure, but I have been listening to these guys practically non-stop lately. Incredibly catchy, fun, dancy stuff, they remind me a lot of XTC. I saw them last night, it was amazing, so much energy. Alex was great at interacting with the crowd.
Discuss your love/hatred/indifference towards them here

That is an insult to XTC.

XTC is a lot better of a comparison than Gang of Four. I like them, but I think they struggled to live up to their debut album.

Franz Ferdinand were my guilty pleasure for a long time as well. Haven't listened to them for a long time though.

I loved them since I first heard their debut (summer 04), their followup initially disappointed me but I have since recognised it as a very strong album, but with weaker individual songs than the debut. I still like them, just not as fervently.

I've liked the singles that have been realeased but I feel that albums have been a dissapointment.

Meh, they are alright. I bought there album and liked the singles and a few other songs but they were never a band that really stuck to me. They are easy to brush off and not listen to.

I really like FF now, but it took me a long, looong time to get into them. I don't know whether that is good.

See, I'm the opposite - the singles are great but I think the album works better as a whole than as individual tracks.

Franz Ferdinand are probably the most famous/popular/well-received of all the new indie bands, at least until the Arctic Monkeys came along.

I liked Take Me Out, but don't really care for them otherwise.

That song really annoys me now.
Why are people guilty about liking Franz? They're a fantastic group.
