Hey out there my Bass playin' brethren.
Here are three songs my band, Sonic Symposium, wrote over the last couple of weeks. Tell me what you think. Like it? Hate it? Constructive Criticism would be appreciated. Give it a listen and remember to crank up the bass!

Wow, you guys are really really tight! Awesome stuff, great bass, saxaphone and piano. The vocals, they are very unique. At times it fits in great but I can't help thinking about Schoolhouse Rock when I listen to his deep voice

Thanks alot, I appreciate it.

Yeah the vocals are certainly unique. It translates alot better live, he gets the crowd going. School House rock, I dig it ha ha.

Wow....I really love that stuff! Very clean playing from everyone, and excellent groove! I know what Ignus means about the vocals , but IMO they should be a bit louder, there often inaudible, and thats my only complaint.

Keep it up, I'd buy your CD :thumb:

^As would I. Nothing like a good band on the forums!

Wow that was great! I would totally buy your CD or something. You guys sound like fantastic musicians, only complaint is vocals could be louder like ignignok said. Other than that, smooth music you guys have going on.

p.s. love your singers voice.

Just to get the inevitable question out of the way....how did you record that? Studio? It sounds very nice n pristine :)

Thanks for the input about the vocals. The singers roomate has a ton of recording equipment and recorded it for us in a classroom so I'm not sure if the vocals can get any clearer although he could probably boost it up on protools. We just played the songs together minus the vocals and then added them in later.
Once again thanks for the comments and keep groovin'!

Listening now. Suspended love utilizes one of my favorite chord progressions. Fun stuff. Sounds great so far.

Finished listening. Unlike the others, I actually have a fair bit of constructive criticism. I'll get to it when I come back from band practice. Later.

Saxophone is not that great imo, but that's coming from a sax player. His tone is a bit :-/ at the start, and playing I think was uninspired. His mini solo was alright, bad intonation though.

The sax tone is too airy. Intonation wasn't too bad most of the song, but these things are coming from like the worst sax player ever. That said, the sax was still enojable. I liked it. The other instruments were really tight. I was definately not expectly vocals like that, but they fit.

Overall, I really like it?

Wow that was really nice, I wish I could put together a band like that in my area :( Theres a lack of musicians around my area though (the ones that think they are musicians are emo-punk-wannabe's who play all kinds of trash).

Very good stuff, vocals could be much further up in the mix though. To my ears they don't fit too well. Guitar could be more in tune and the sax player could be better in time sometimes but apart from that, pretty good.

Thanks for the feedback. Our sax player gets a little overzealous sometimes but manages to pull it off for the most part. That can be said for all of us though, except the keyboard player, he is by far the best musician among us. I'm going to try and put the advice into practice next time we jam, although the sax player weighs 265 pounds so I'll have to be sneaky:)

Take it easy and thanks for replying
