stupid question regarding amps

ok, so i got a fairly small cab as a gift from a guy who used to play bass.... and now i want to upgrade... all i have now is the head and small cab.... can i just add more cabs to the setup, or do i need some compatible cabs, or what.... im prolly not explaining myself well, but its the best i can do.

well you either have to be able to run parallel or series (i bet you have no idea wut that means so lemme explain.)

parallel would be like if your amp had 2 outputs, if it does, get another cable and jus plug into a new cab

series would be like if your cab had an input and an output, so then its wired
amp->cab1->cab2
you could buy a second cab that has the series thing going on if you dont have it already

yea...hopefully someone can explain better than me

do you know the wattage and ohmage of the cab and head? cause with out that its pretty much impossible to find a second cab or even upgrade
