Well i used to play bass a lot and played for around 4 years. However i became a drummer and have since lost touch with my bass skills.
Im gonna admit i cant play anywhere near as well as i used to. So my question is this:
What exercises should i practice to improve?
Are there any methods you can advise to help me remember basslines?
Are there any books or videos you can recommend i try?

If you forgot everything you probably played tabs eh? I just bought a decent book called "Serious Electric Bass" by primedia from my friend.. real nice for learning sheet music, modes, scales, all that good stuff. I cant remember the specifics.. at scho atm but ill repost the author and all that when i get back to me casa. Also reccomend some easier stuff like Schism and 46&2 by Tool, then maybe Hysteria by Muse which sounds insanely hard but it's really easy if you start slow and itll make you sound like your a pro :thumb: Good Luck

point, but how many times do you sit down with a bass, while practicing, with the intention of getting better...repeating the mantra of "this wont go anywhere" it didnt seem very helpful at all once you look at it this way

I did play a lot of tabs, but i did have lessons as well.
However if you hardly touch a bass for 2 years then its gonna slip out of your mind.
Oh god. I have to put up with my dad raving about the score, please not you too.
I cant bear to go out tonight because the club'll just be filled with boro chants again.

He works all over the place. He does a lot of work in boro. Biggest one i can think of was the Arena Live thing in jan' 05 for the tsunami.
He also runs OneLouder Radio.
