Godsmack most be the most repetative band I've ever heard in my lifetime. Everysong I've heard is pretty much the same format with the same bland vocals. I'm not even sure they leave the key of E for the most part.

i like the cover of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath they did with Bruce Dickinson, other than that i don't think i've heard any of their stuff.

I like Awake, Faceless, and The Other Side. They do have some diversity.

I don't care for their self titled or IV. I do like a couple songs from IV.

I think they should be a slow acoustic rock band. Think Serenity.

The new leaked album is godawful. It's just a utter mess.

Faceless has a few cool tunes though.

Are they considered Nu-metal? I have heard a couple of songs from them I liked and a couple that I didn't, but can't say they are my cup of tea.

i heard godsmack covering war pigs though... not the best but not that worst either... the only album i like of them was the one with whatever in it...

they're alright imo, the guitarist can play some pretty cool solos, but i find them a bit too repetitive, almost all similar chord progressions

i especially like their guitar effects. their vocal is really cool too. his voice is really unique.
what effect they usually use?
most of their solos are just bending keys fixed with very cool wah-wah. but only a few time the guitarist play the fast solo full of scales .

They seem to try too hard to sound like Alice in Chains. They have a few decent songs though.

I used to like these guys during my "if it has distortion then its cool" phase in early high school. I can see them trying to be like AIC but imho they are no where near as intricate or interesting in any regard.

They are however one of the best bands for beginners on electric guitar, their riffs are as simple as it gets but they still sound pretty cool. I used to d/l their albums and just pick out riffs I liked so I could learn them. I still whip out the odd Godsmack riff when I'm bored and wanna play something fun and easy :)

I saw Godsmack open for Metallica in '04. They did a very good show. Their music is okay jsut a lot of repetitive stuff. They try to be like Metallica to much i think and aren't nearly as good.

Godsmack just make's the same song over and over. Every new album they make just sounds like every other song they've ever made and put it together. But they're rich and i'm not, so what the hell do I know?

"No rest for the wicked" is the best song on thier new album. I would give the new album 6.7/10.

The guitarist needs to learn some new approaches to soloing. His solos all start with that long yaaawing wah wah followed by some semi fast scales.

1. NO NO NO......by far not the best.

2. That's what unskilled guitarists do. They play scales and shred, and add effects to make it sound cool.

There is only one cover of War Pigs you need and thats the one by Faith no More, wich might be better than the original.

I agree for the most part, although the acoustic album they did(Other Side), had some halfway decent songs on it.
